My Story

Hi, I’m Patrycja,

I am from Poland, based in Auckland, New Zealand, and qualified in York, England.

I love learning, as knowledge is the key to empowerment. Humans and nature fascinate and inspire me, and I am grateful to my clients for helping me better understand the world around us; we refer to this as “patient mileage.” (This means the more patients I help, the better I become at my profession through interactive learning).

I strive to improve my skills through experience, continuing education, and formal training. Still, the most valuable learning comes from the time spent with the patients I support on their journey to recovery.

“We, as a part of nature, also form patterns. The mind is like the wind and the body like the sand- if you want to know how the wind is blowing, you can look at the sand.” Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen

Early Career and Specialization

In my early years of Physiotherapy, I worked on various wards in Hull, York, and Selby hospitals (England), including respiratory/pulmonology, neurology, acute stroke rehabilitation, hand rehabilitation, elderly care, renal, orthopedic, and outpatient clinics. I then chose to specialize in the latter – musculoskeletal & orthopedic therapy, sports injuries, and, since coming to New Zealand, vocational rehabilitation, chronic problems. Working with people and observing how injuries and their symptoms affect our well-being and various aspects of life took me on a path to explore how emotions & traumatic experiences influence our physiology, posture, perception of self and life, ability to recover from injuries, and enjoyment of life.

Holistic Approach and All Body Systems Appreciation

I combine various therapies with a holistic approach because one size doesn’t fit all, providing tailored treatments and advice to suit one’s needs.
I am fascinated by how various systems in our body are designed and function and how they all work together and affect each other.

My big loves are the nervous system, lymphatic, respiratory, and, of course, musculoskeletal systems.
The nervous system is unique as it controls everything in our body. It functions at conscious and subconscious levels, and all the injuries or problems we get will impact the nervous system. Thus, I always consider it when I assess how my clients present with their symptoms. No injury happens alone; no injury heals alone – it always involves multiple systems.
One of the fundamental therapies I apply is massage. Several years ago, I discovered love and appreciation of how profoundly therapeutic human touch is.

I have developed a unique Simply Melt massage technique to guide the nervous system into a blissful state of relaxation, where repair, regeneration, and deep rest become more accessible. My love and appreciation for the body’s physiology has also led me to specialize in Manual Lymphatic Drainage, which I call Simply Flow—a medicinal and deeply relaxing approach that supports the body’s natural detoxification and immune processes. For situations where deeper fascial work is needed to address stubborn neurological and stress-related patterns, I offer the Face Up® Method, which I call Simply Held, providing gentle yet profound stimulation that allows the body and nervous system to fully release, integrate, and restore balance.

Somatic Movement and Emotional Wellbeing

I like to explore various techniques to regulate the nervous system. Somatic Movement practice (Thomas Hanna approach) is my unique tool to control the nervous system and our whole body physically and emotionally. It’s truly remarkable. The practice is very gentle, using breath to guide the rhythm of movements. It can be meditative and a way to travel inwards, home to ourselves.
