Interested in Somatic Movement Workshops?
Once or twice a year, I run a six-week course on somatic movement workshops: “The Feel Good series” in Takapuna. During the weeks, I share my love of Somatic practice and education about the nervous system & how everyday life impacts our physiology, posture, breathing patterns & energy levels. We practice slow and gentle movements in the rhythm of breath to reduce tension, pain, and tightness and allow the stress to be processed out of the body. Leaving you feeling at ease, rested & recharged- often described by participants as blissful.
I can offer a shorter format of a 3-hour workshop.
The next course has no set date, but if you would like to express your interest/ have questions about it, or would like to be informed when the next course comes up, contact me on my mobile or fill in the form below.
Somatic Movement practice workshop series cost:
6 weeks = $210
3 hours = $90
If you are interested in having a Somatic Movement or a Wellbeing workshop delivered at your workplace, get in touch to discuss.

Discovery
I was introduced to Somatic Movement practice during my study in the Contemporary Yoga Teacher Training course (2019). From my first experience of this practice, I knew it was special. I was so curious and impressed by this practice that I knew I needed to learn more about it.
Education
I went on to study with Haidee Stairmand and Suds Sutherland – excellent teachers of Somatic Movement practice in Thomas Hanna’s approach. I completed all five levels of training, and I love this practice and its principles; it is logical and simple but complex at the same time, enjoyable, and requires little effort- which can be a challenge (!). It is a fantastic tool for learning about oneself and developing skills of self-care; it is quite meditative, and it is many things:) But it brings you back home to yourself.
Transformation
Somatics has made a significant impact on my approach to physiotherapy. Somatics are my superpower; I can rely on them to help my clients in many ways. The principles of gentle, soft, and subtle effort used in this practice are essential for most of us. Sometimes, it can be quite challenging, but the value of this practice is enormous. It teaches us self-awareness (interoception and neuroception) and self-regulation of the nervous system, which is useful in many aspects of our lives. It improves our respiratory function and breathing patterns, reduces tension in our body, improves posture, and reduces pain. The practice can potentially impact every single system in our body, bringing calm and ease to our minds. It is truly an effective and wonderful practice.
Power
Somatic movement practice is powerful because it directly stimulates our nervous system to re-organize neural patterns of connections and optimize our function. It uses breath to guide the rhythm of movements, making it a valuable tool to activate the parasympathetic state- where the magic of healing and repair happens- at physiological, neurological, and emotional levels.
